Turbochargers operate at extremely high temperatures, and shutting the engine off too soon can lead to premature turbocharger bearing failure. The Turbo Cool Down Timer is designed to keep the engine running after the ignition is turned off, allowing vital lubricating oil to continue circulating through the turbocharger while temperatures safely decrease.

When oil flow is cut off too early, residual oil trapped in the bearing housing can overheat and coke, leading to accelerated bearing wear and reduced lubrication. By allowing the engine to idle at a controlled speed, the Cool Down Timer helps protect the turbocharger and extend its service life.

The system offers flexible control options, including adjustable idle time up to 5 minutes, temperature-based shutdown using a K-Type EGT probe, or manual activation. It is compatible with most OEM vehicle security systems and supports a wide range of diesel applications.
